SHORT BIO

Farah Abdelhamid is an Egyptian artist, jeweler and metalsmith based in Cairo. Trained at the Rhode Island School of Design, she hand-raises one-of-a-kind hollow jewelry and objects in silver, metal and glass, exploring the relationship between the body and the objects it wears and holds.

LONG BIO

Farah Abdelhamid is an Egyptian artist, maker and teacher working across jewelry, objects and sculpture. Born in Vienna and raised across nine countries, she graduated in Jewelry and Metalsmithing from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2015 and founded FforFarah, her jewelry and objects studio and gallery in Maadi, Cairo.

Her research-based practice centres on the body's relationship to objects, object-making and the experience of interaction. Working by hand, she raises and forges hollow forms from flat metal sheet and combines them with blown glass, producing one-of-a-kind jewelry, vessels and furniture.

Her work has been shown at Venice Design 2019 alongside La Biennale di Venezia, Milan Design Week, Dubai Design Week, the 21st Silver Triennial International (2025–27), Cairo Design Week 2025 and Arab Design Now at Design Doha Biennial 2026. She has taught jewelry making and design for over twelve years.
